About Us

The Niwot Sanitation District was formed in 1967 as a Title 32 Colorado Special District local government entity governed by a five member Board of Directors. The District Manager reports to the board of directors and is responsible for the daily operation of the District.

The District is responsible for wastewater collection and treatment. It is also responsible for operation compliance with regional and state regulations.

The District's service area encompasses approximately seven square miles of gravity fed wastewater lines with over 900 manholes. The wastewater collection system collects wastewater and transports it to the District's wastewater treatment plant.
